Jillian Zirnhelt graduated from Grand Valley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Economics in 2011. She was recognized by GVSU College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) through the 2024 CLAS Distinguished Alumni-in-Residence program.

Jillian Zirnhelt graduated from GVSU in 2011 with a double major in International Relations and Economics. As an undergraduate, she spent an academic year studying abroad in Shanghai, China, and she also worked a summer with a non-profit organization in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Following her graduation, Jillian served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Fiji. After completing a Master’s degree in International Economics and Finance from Johns Hopkins University, she worked at the IMF before starting a Ph.D. program in Economics at the University of Pittsburgh.
