Part of the Work Like a Laker Conference, Resume Review Day provides you the opportunity to virtually interact with individual students who are seeking professional feedback on their resume, while sourcing potential candidates for your organization. You will review a student's resume, have a chance to share your contact information, and if appropriate, invite the student to learn more about your organization at the Virtual Career, Internship & Summer Fair - all in 10-minute sessions.

The Review Process

  1. Employers register in Handshake and create schedules ( get help creating schedules).
  2. Students register in Handshake in advance or day-of to have their resume reviewed by one or several employers.
  3. On the day of the event, students and employers sign in to Handshake to launch their meetings.
  4. Employers review students’ resumes and provide feedback in 10-minute sessions.
  5. Employers may request, if appropriate, that students follow up with them at the Fall Virtual Career & Internship Fair with a revised version of their resume.
  6. Employers and students exchange contact information, if appropriate, for continued networking.

Part of the Work Like a Laker Conference, this event allows attending organizations to participate in a virtual speed practice interview session for students at GVSU. Participating employers will have a chance to give a short welcome and information about their organization followed by a speed interviewing session facilitated via Zoom. Don't miss this great opportunity to contribute to the professional development of our students while identifying good potential candidates for your organization!

Computing Practice Interviews
Session 1 - March 2, 2021: 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Session 2 - March 4, 2021: 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Please join us for our annual Computing Practice Interviews this fall semester! Engage with a subset of the 70 students in our CIS 290 Internship Preparation class that are, or will soon be, seeking internship opportunities.

We will be holding our practice interviews in a virtual "speed interviewing" format. Groups of three to four students (35 total per session) will rotate between virtual  employer tables (10 total per session) for approximately ten minutes each. You will have the opportunity to present your company and discuss any potential openings you have to internship seeking students throughout the session. You will also provide verbal feedback to students on their interview responses. Follow up with students is encouraged!

For all sessions we are looking for 10 employers on a first-come, first-served basis. All sessions will take place via Zoom.
