The Kirkhof College of Nursing (KCON) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at focuses on evidence-based nursing practice to provide interventions for individuals, families, and communities with care and compassion.
Students participate in five semesters of clinical rotations in areas like medical/surgical nursing, mental health nursing, obstetrics nursing, pediatric nursing, adult/older adult nursing, and community/population health nursing.
The undergraduate curriculum is based on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing's (AACN) Essentials, focusing on your role development as a provider of care, a designer/manager/coordinator of care, and a member of the profession.
The program boasts a nearly 100 percent employment rate for graduates, reflecting the high demand for nurses. You will learn from exceptional faculty dedicated to your success using state-of-the-art technology at the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences and the Daniel and Pamella DeVos Center for Interprofessional Health, located in the heart of Grand Rapids' medical mile.
The KCON Office of Student Services supports students throughout the program, offering personalized academic advising and connecting them to university resources. enhances the learning experience. The program is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, ensuring a high standard of education.
KCON admits two cohorts into the traditional B.S.N. program on an annual basis; one cohort in the fall semester and one cohort in the winter semester. Admission to the program is highly competitive and a student may not be admitted if only meeting the minimum requirements.
