• 20 CreditsMathematics is the study of numbers, patterns, shapes, and structures, focusing on logic and quantitative reasoning.
Grand Valley's math program provides students with the knowledge necessary to succeed in various careers and offers students rich explorations of theory, fascinating applications of real-world problems, and transferable skills in communication, technology, and creative problem-solving.
You will engage in mathematical modeling, calculus, and differential equations while honing your mathematical reasoning and communication skills. The program includes four elective math courses, allowing the curriculum to address your interests. Students can also participate in research and project-based applied mathematics.
Students develop sought-after skills through hands-on experience in critical thinking, mathematical modeling, and coding. The mathematics program offers research opportunities, study abroad, and internships for credit. The nationally recognized faculty, many award-winning, continuously advance their teaching, and the department is acclaimed for innovative approaches, receiving national recognition for its teaching excellence.
