The education for younger children (birth to kindergarten) program prepares students to support the development and learning of young children, including those with special needs. 

Overview

The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster the growth and development of children from birth to kindergarten. This program emphasizes both general and special education, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the diverse needs of young learners. Students learn about child development, early childhood education practices, and strategies for working with children with disabilities, preparing them for roles in various educational settings.

You will engage in various courses that cover child development, early literacy, inclusive education, and family engagement. Core courses explore topics like assessment, intervention, and curriculum development. Advanced courses focus on specialized areas like special education methods and strategies for supporting children with diverse needs. 

The program's interdisciplinary approach allows students to tailor their education to their interests and career goals. With access to experienced faculty and hands-on learning opportunities in real classroom settings, students gain valuable experience working with young children in various settings.
