Workday Student Timeline
There will be four primary activity launches, following the schedule of the general GVSU academic calendar. Support will be provided throughout each activity launch and beyond, and is expected to include options to call, email, enter a ticket, or attend an open lab / office hours.
GUIDED PREVIEWS / MOCK SEMESTER: A simulation period for students, faculty, and staff to familiarize themselves with Workday before the first official activity launch.
TRAINING: Training will be provided prior to each activity launch in a variety of formats including: instructor-led classes (in-person and Zoom), Workday Help articles, and demo videos.
ACTIVITY LAUNCHES: Various student-related activities like registration and billing will launch in Workday beginning in late 2026 and continue throughout 2027.

- Student onboarding
- Student financial aid action items
- Academic planning begins
Student Registration Begins
March 2027
- Academic planning continues
- Students register for classes
- Summer 2027 semester classes: register in Banner January-May 2027
- Fall 2027 / Winter 2028 semester: register in Workday March-May 2027
- Seniors apply for program completion
Student Billing & Payment
July 2027
- Student drop / add class process
- Student payments for Fall 2027
First Full Semester in Workday
Fall 2027
- Student late add class process
- Grade entry including new "Never Attended" option
