Art Education Alumna Returns to Calder for lecture on K-12 Art Education

Tricia Erickson will return to the Calder Arts Center after 13 years as an Art teacher to pass lessons to future artists and educators.

It was 2005 when Tricia Erickson graduated from GVSU with a bachelor's degree in Art Education and French. Since then, she received a Master's Degree in Art Education from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2010 and was named the 2017 Teacher of the Year by the Michigan Art Education Association.

As a Laker For a Lifetime, Tricia will enter the walls of the Calder Arts Center on April 17 for a presentation that will offer insights that she hopes to put the minds of those interested in art education at ease upon graduation.

Titled “Tricks of the Trade: A Survival Guide for Art Educators”, the presentation will be held on April 17, from 9:30–11:00 a.m., in room 1201, Calder Arts Center. The event is sponsored by the Art Education Program in the Department of Visual and Media Arts. You can also read the great article by Matthew Makowski on Tricia for GV Now.
