Printmaking Alumna is this year's Visiting Artist

This year's Visiting Artist in Printmaking not only gets to give a talk on her work to the Department faculty, staff and students but also gets to travel down memory lane while doing it. Amanda Wieczorek, a Detroit, MI native and a GVSU alumna, will visit Printmaking during the week of February 6th trough February 10th and make work in the exact same space where her academic creative practice started.

Amanda Wieczorek received a BFA degree in Printmaking in 2012 from GVSU. Since then, she has been busy in pursuing a variety of opportunities to make new work and experiment. She received a Master of Arts degree from the world-acclaimed Royal College of Art in the United Kingdom, was a resident at the Atelierhaus Beisinghoff in Rhoden, Germany and the HERE Creative Centre in Stöðvarfjörður, Iceland, and has had an active record of exhibitions of her prints.

The artist currently lives and resides in Warsaw, Poland. During Wieczorek's stay at GVSU, she will spend her stay making prints in the Printmaking Studios and anyone is welcome to watch, ask questions and chat with her. She will also be giving a talk about her professional trajectory since graduation on Wednesday, February 8th, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., in the Printmaking Studios. Everyone is welcome to attend.
