Description
Please join us in welcoming Jeffrey Augustine Songco as the 2026-2027 Padnos Distinguished Artist-in-Residence.
At the event, Jeffrey will share his past artwork and introduce his residency project titled “Our Island,” a new project exploring identity, power, and American belonging through a mashup of his childhood experience performing in “South Pacific” and his current obsession with the reality television show “Survivor.” Drawing from personal history, popular culture, and mythology, Jeffrey is interested in how stories of love, war, and racism are rehearsed and performed in American culture.
Good conversation and light refreshments will be served following the presentation. Read more about Jeffrey in a recent GVNext article:
This event also appears on the main events calendar tagged as art, artist, calder, pair, and vma.
