Christopher has a BA from UW-Milwaukee in History with a minor in Cinema Studies, and an MA from NYU in Cinema Studies. and is ABD (Ph.D forthcoming this Fall) from Georgia State University. His general interest focuses on formal aesthetics as they manifest a cinematic sense of subjecthood. His published work has focused on Westerns and American Subjective identity, Primarily using Marxist ideological critique and psychoanalytic theory as the tool through which to explore these themes. Beyond this, Christopher has a deep fascination/love of exploitation and "low" genre/paracinema, and a general interest in the cinema of Latin America, particularly Colombia, Chile, and Mexico.  He has taught courses on Latin American Cinema, Eastern European/soviet bloc cinema. Westerns, Psychoanalysis, Queer Cinema, and Counter Culture Cinema (and more).
