Chris Barbee has been director of Alumni Relations at Grand Valley since August 2002. He received a BS in broadcasting from Grand Valley State University in 1988. Following graduation he worked at West Michigan Public Broadcasting where he served as a news and sports reporter for WGVU-AM/FM and as a producer-host of "GV Sports" for WGVU-WGVK-TV. From January 1994 until August 2002 he served as press secretary to Congressman Vern Ehlers of Grand Rapids.
Richa Bhurtel is an MBA student at Seidman College of Business. Apart from being a full-time student and a graduate assistant at the College of Business, she is a fellow with the Cook Leadership Academy, member of Seidman Graduate Student Advisory Board, and graduate representative for GVSU Curriculum Review Subcommittee. Graduating in April 2018, Richa will be pursuing a career in project management and ERP.

Mark Coaster is the Senior Energy Consultant at Executive Energy Services, LLC. He holds degrees from Michigan State University (Engineering) and Grand Valley State University (MBA) and his career also includes services with Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, CoEnergy Trading Company, and DTE Energy Trading.
Rick Cornelisse is a Global Digital Analytics Manager for X-Rite, Inc. He graduated from GVSU with his BBA in finance in 2005, and again with an MBA in 2011. In addition, Rick is an adjunct instructor at GVSU, teaching the undergraduate financial modeling class at the Seidman College of Business.
Camille Curtis is a Project Manager for the CoMarketing team at Aisle Rocket Studios in St. Joseph, MI. She graduated from GVSU in 2017 with a BBA degree in Marketing with a minor in Hospitality and Tourism Management. In conjunction with the Seidman Alumni Board, she also is a member of the Young Alumni Council.
Val Dittrich is a Business Development Manager for Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing, one of Michigan's privately held fastest growing companies She learned about Grand River through her involvement with Grand Valley's Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and has been a part of the growing company since 2011. She earned her BBA in Marketing from the Seidman College of Business in 2012.
Jill Dooley currently serves as Vice President of Resource Development with Heart of West Michigan United Way. Prior to fulfilling roles in the non-profit industry, her background involved industrial engineering, operations management and business development. She graduate from GVSU Seidman College of Business in 1990 with a BBA, and again in 1999 with an MBA.
Brandon Finnie is a Business Valuation Specialist at Hungerford Valuation. Prior to this position, he was a Manager at Adamy Valuation Advisors. He earned his BBA concentrating in Finance and Accounting from the Seidman College of Business in 2006.
John Grahs is the IT Manager of Kent Power, Inc. Prior to his current position, he served as the IT and Operations Manager at Spartan Distributors, and Systems Engineer for Star Cutter Company. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Tech, and earned his MBA from the Seidman College of Business in 2013.
Sarah Henige is the Category Manager at Diageo North America. She graduated from GVSU with her BBA in Finance and Marketing in 2002, and again with an MBA in 2010. Prior to this position, she was a Category Manager at MillerCoors, supporting Meijer.
Vonnie Herrera serves as the Executive Director of the Seidman College of Business Alumni Association. She also serves as the Director of External Relations and Communications for the Seidman College of Business, Grand Valley State University, where she earned a BA degree.
Walid Jamal is the managing Partner at JHG Holdings LLC. He received his M.B.A. from GVSU in 2011. For the past 12 years he has managed the JHG growth Portfolio, acquiring, developing, and operating multiple IHOP restaurant locations, along with the most recent expansion into other brands and industries.
Mark Kubik is the Managing Director at ASG Capital Management, LLC in Grand Rapids. Mark has worked on business projects in the United States, India, Ireland and France. He has an MBA from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, and a BBA from the Seidman College of Business, Grand Valley State University. He serves as a Visiting Instructor of Marketing in the Seidman College of Business.
Eric Larson is a Partner at Beene Garter LLP. Mr. Larson’s practice is focused on business valuation and litigation support. He has worked with hundreds of closely-held companies and their representatives in numbers areas such as succession planning, gift and estate tax, ESOPS, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial and civil litigation. He has earned BS and MBA degrees from Grand Valley State University.
Amy Lodenstein is the Director of Operations at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. Amy is also an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Allied Health Sciences at GVSU. She holds a BSN degree from Hope College and an MSN/MBA from Grand Valley State University. Amy volunteers with the Special Olympics.
Jacqueline Schafer is the Senior Wealth Strategist for Mirador Family Wealth Advisors which is a division of Fifth Third Bank. She earned her BBA with an emphasis in Accounting from the Seidman College of Business in 2000. She also earned her Masters degree in Taxation from Seidman in 2005.
Joel Schick (MBA ’07) is the Vice President of Sales & Demand Generation with Digital Marketing Strategies in Grand Rapids, a company focused on acquiring Digital Marketing firms throughout the US & Canada and growing each via outbound Lead Generation and Inside Sales services. He also works with small, medium, and large businesses in various B2B markets focused on growth via Lead Generation and Inside Selling as an outsourced provider. Prior to this, he worked in various sales and commercial roles after graduating from Hope College with his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Economics/Communication.
Scott Setlock (BBA in Finance & Business Economics ’04, MBA ‘10) is a Vice President, Mortgage Market Leader at Mercantile Bank of Michigan. Scott maintains an active role in the community, serving on the board of In The Image, a Grand Rapids based non-profit organization supporting families in need, volunteering through Schools of Hope and Junior Achievement, and serving on committees to facilitate the West Michigan ACG Cup and Banking Challenge competitions. Scott is also an active GVSU contributor, maintaining roles with the Seidman Alumni Board and the Finance Department Advisory Board, while teaching an undergraduate Bank Management class as an adjunct professor.
Ryan Slusarzyk (BBA in Marketing & Management, ’08) is the Director of Sales and Marketing for Grand Rapids Drive. Ryan is 2014 recipient of the Seidman College of Business Outstanding Alumni “Up & Coming” award and in 2014 was also honored as the inaugural Grand Valley State University “Young Alumni of the Year” award. He is extremely active within the community and aside from the Seidman board, is also involved in: Cook Leadership Academy (mentor), Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Community Foundation, and the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, to name a few.
William Smith is the Owner of CompuCraft, Inc, and GoWest Properties. His degrees include a BBA in Marketing, and a MBA in Finance, and he has been a regular Adjunct Instructor for GVSU for over 30 years. He was honored as an Outstanding Entrepreneur by the Seidman College of Business in 2001.
Paul Spindler CPA, CMA, CFE, CGMA, is the Founder and Managing Member of Spindler CFO Solutions, LLC. Paul is the CFO of Master Finish Company and has extensive experience working with closely-held businesses in a variety of different capacities. Paul also teaches part-time in the Accounting Department with GVSU. He has a BBA in Accounting from GVSU.
Michael Stornant is CFO of Corporate Finance at Wolverine World Wide. He has been with the company 16 years serving in various operations and financial positions throughout his tenure. Before Wolverine World Wide, Stornant served on the Audit and Compliance team at Ernst and Young LLP. He graduated from GVSU in 1988 with a BS in Accounting.
Gabe Strickler is a Commodity Specialist at Haworth. He holds degrees from Michigan State University (BA in Supply Chain Management) and Grand Valley State University (MBA). While at MSU he was a member of the Men's Varsity Swim Team and served as Captain his senior year.
Rachel Travis is a current Seidman College of Business student and will be graduating in April 2018 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration degree. She is majoring in Supply Chain Management and Marketing. Rachel is a Logistics Procurement Intern at Steelcase Inc., where she has worked since January of 2016. She is also actively involved in the Seidman Supply Chain Management Association along with the Cook Leadership Academy, and has previously served as the Vice President of Finance for the Student Senate.
Nelson Van Elderen is currently an affiliate instructor of Marketing in the Seidman College of Business. Previously he worked in the lumber and building materials industry for 31 years in various capacities and retired as Director of Marketing for The Standard Companies in 2008. Nelson has been involved with the Seidman Alumni Board since its inception and received his BBA(1976) and MBA(1994) from Seidman.
Steve Zlotnicki, CTP, is the Corporate Treasury Manager for Spectrum Health System. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Seidman College of Business in 1993. Steve is a military veteran, having served 8 years in the United States Air Force. While in the service, Steve obtained his Avionic Engineering degree from the University of Maryland (European Division) in 1984.
