Chris Barbee (BS '88)
Chris has been director of Alumni Relations at Grand Valley since August 2002. He received a BS in broadcasting from Grand Valley State University in 1988. Following graduation he worked at West Michigan Public Broadcasting where he served as a news and sports reporter for WGVU-AM/FM and as a producer-host of "GV Sports" for WGVU-WGVK-TV. From January 1994 until August 2002 he served as press secretary to Congressman Vern Ehlers of Grand Rapids.
Wendy Cammet (BBA '98)
Wendy is Vice President/Head of Product Management for the Specialty division of Farmers Insurance. She received her BBA in Management from the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University in 1998 and also has an MBA from Western Michigan University. In addition to the Seidman Alumni Board, she is actively involved with Junior Achievement of West Michigan and the Enrichment Education board for her local school district.
Mark Coaster (MBA '00)
Mark is the Senior Energy Consultant at Executive Energy Services, LLC. He holds degrees from Michigan State University (Engineering) and Grand Valley State University (MBA) and his career also includes services with Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, CoEnergy Trading Company, and DTE Energy Trading.
Rick Cornelisse (BBA '05)
Rick is a Senior Performance Consultant at SDI Clarity. He graduated from GVSU with a BBA (concentration in finance) in 2005 and an MBA in 2011. Prior to joining SDI, Rick worked in various capacities with other West Michigan companies including X-Rite, KPMG, GVSU and Gordon Food Service.
Camille Curtis (BBA '17)
Camille is the Marketing & Communications Manager for Housing & Residence Life at GVSU. She graduated from GVSU in 2017 with a BBA degree in Marketing with a minor in Hospitality and Tourism Management. In conjunction with the Seidman Alumni Board, she also is a member of the Young Alumni Council.
Val Dittrich (BBA '12)
Val is a Business Development Manager for Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing, one of Michigan's privately held fastest growing companies She learned about Grand River through her involvement with Grand Valley's Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and has been a part of the growing company since 2011. She earned her BBA in Marketing from the Seidman College of Business in 2012.
Jill Dooley (BBA '90, MBA '99)
Jill currently serves as the Director of Philanthropy with Phoenix Society for Bur Survivors. Prior to fulfilling roles in the non-profit industry, her background involved industrial engineering, operations management and business development. She graduate from GVSU Seidman College of Business in 1990 with a BBA, and again in 1999 with an MBA.
Brandon Finnie (BBA '06)
Brandon is a Business Valuation Specialist at Hungerford Valuation. Prior to this position, he was a Manager at Adamy Valuation Advisors. He earned his BBA concentrating in Finance and Accounting from the Seidman College of Business in 2006.
John Grahs (MBA '13)
John is the IT Manager of Kent Power, Inc. Prior to his current position, he served as the IT and Operations Manager at Spartan Distributors, and Systems Engineer for Star Cutter Company. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Tech, and earned his MBA from the Seidman College of Business in 2013.
Walid Jamal (MBA '11)
Walid is the managing Partner at JHG Holdings LLC. He received his M.B.A. from GVSU in 2011. For the past 12 years he has managed the JHG growth Portfolio, acquiring, developing, and operating multiple IHOP restaurant locations, along with the most recent expansion into other brands and industries.
Craig James-Heer (MBA '01)
Craig is the Chief Information Security Officer for Gordon Food Service, the largest family-operated broadline foodservice distributor in North America. In this role, Craig is accountable for information security, risk, and compliance across the enterprise. Craig has been an employee with Gordon Food Service for over 20 years and spent much of his career in Application Development, Infrastructure, and IT leadership. Craig holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University, an MBA from Grand Valley State University (2001), and is certified as a CISM.
Mark Kubik (BBA '96)
Mark is a Clinical Affiliate Professor of Marketing in the Seidman College of Business. Prior to his career in academia he worked in the Finance Industry working on projects globally and is Of Counsel with ASG Capital Management, LLC. Currently he is a Doctoral Candidate at DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of business, holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a BBA from the Seidman College of Business. Mark is also the Faculty Advisor to Seidman’s Professional Sales Association.
Eric is a Partner at Beene Garter LLP. Mr. Larson’s practice is focused on business valuation and litigation support. He has worked with hundreds of closely-held companies and their representatives in numbers areas such as succession planning, gift and estate tax, ESOPS, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial and civil litigation. He has earned BS and MBA degrees from Grand Valley State University.
Amy Lodenstein (MSN/MBA '03)
Amy is the owner of Coye’s Canvas & Awning, a Grand Rapids-based manufacturing company that was established in 1855. Amy purchased the business after a 20-year career in healthcare administration, following her dream of owning her own business. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hope College, and graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Nursing.
Eunice Lopez-Martin (BBA '09)
Eunice is the Branch Manager for Choice One Bank at its newest Downtown Grand Rapids location. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Arts with an emphasis in Spanish Literature in the Winter of 2009. She has been in the Financial Banking industry for 13 years. Eunice is on Grand Valley’s Alumni Association Board and an active participant with the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Her volunteer activities include Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Gilda’s Club & Junior Achievement. Eunice lives in Kentwood with her son Antonio, and loves to spend time with family and work out.
Caleb Pols (BBA '14)
Caleb is a Risk Management Consultant at BHS. He works primarily with mid-market business in the West Michigan Area, helping his clients reduce and manage their cost of risk. Caleb is licensed in both property and casualty insurance and health and life insurance. He is also a Licensed Insurance Counselor (LIC) and a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS). He lives in Grand Rapids and serves on various boards within the Grand Rapids community. In his free time Caleb enjoys hiking, hunting and golfing.
Jacqueline Schafer (BBA '00, MST '05)
Jacqueline is the Senior Wealth Strategist for Mirador Family Wealth Advisors which is a division of Fifth Third Bank. She earned her BBA with an emphasis in Accounting from the Seidman College of Business in 2000. She also earned her Masters degree in Taxation from Seidman in 2005.
Joel Schick (MBA '07)
Joel is the Vice President of Sales & Demand Generation with Digital Marketing Strategies in Grand Rapids, a company focused on acquiring Digital Marketing firms throughout the US & Canada and growing each via outbound Lead Generation and Inside Sales services. He also works with small, medium, and large businesses in various B2B markets focused on growth via Lead Generation and Inside Selling as an outsourced provider. Prior to this, he worked in various sales and commercial roles after graduating from Hope College with his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Economics/Communication.
Scott Setlock (BBA '04, MBA '10)
Scott is a Senior Vice President, Mortgage and Consumer Lending Department Head at Mercantile Bank of Michigan. Scott maintains an active role in the community, serving as Chairman of In The Image, a Grand Rapids based non-profit organization supporting families in need, volunteering with Junior Achievement, and teaching financial literacy courses through several area non-profit organizations. Scott and his wife Christina (’05 and ’09) live in Rockford where they enjoy the daily excitement that comes with raising three young boys.
Ryan Slusarzyk (BBA '08)
Ryan is Marketing Product Manager at Stryker Medical. Ryan is 2014 recipient of the Seidman College of Business Outstanding Alumni “Up & Coming” award and in 2014 was also honored as the inaugural Grand Valley State University “Young Alumni of the Year” award. He is extremely active within the community and aside from the Seidman board, is also involved in: Cook Leadership Academy (mentor), Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Community Foundation, and the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, to name a few.
William Smith (BBA '80, MBA '85)
William is the Owner of CompuCraft, Inc, and GoWest Properties. His degrees include a BBA in Marketing, and a MBA in Finance, and he has been a regular Adjunct Instructor for GVSU for over 30 years. He was honored as an Outstanding Entrepreneur by the Seidman College of Business in 2001.
Mike Stornant (BBA '88)
Mike is CFO of Corporate Finance at Wolverine World Wide. He has been with the company 16 years serving in various operations and financial positions throughout his tenure. Before Wolverine World Wide, Stornant served on the Audit and Compliance team at Ernst and Young LLP. He graduated from GVSU in 1988 with a BBA in Accounting.
Gabe Strickler (MBA '15)
Gabe is a Senior Buyer, Tooling & Capital at Motus Integrated Technologies. He holds degrees from Michigan State University (BA in Supply Chain Management) and Grand Valley State University (MBA). While at MSU he was a member of the Men's Varsity Swim Team and served as Captain his senior year.
Nelson VanElderen (BBA '76, MBA '94)
Nelson is currently the Marketing Director for Standard Kitchens. Previously he was an affiliate instructor of Marketing in the Seidman College of Business. He has worked in the lumber and building materials industry for 31 years in various capacities and retired as Director of Marketing for The Standard Companies in 2008. Nelson has been involved with the Seidman Alumni Board since its inception and received his BBA(1976) and MBA(1994) from Seidman.

Steve Zlotnicki (BBA '93)
Steve CTP, is the Corporate Treasury Manager for Spectrum Health System. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Seidman College of Business in 1993. Steve is a military veteran, having served 8 years in the United States Air Force. While in the service, Steve obtained his Avionic Engineering degree from the University of Maryland (European Division) in 1984.
