Scholarships are a great resource to help reduce your reliance on student loans. Grand Valley has a wide variety of scholarships available to new and returning students. In addition to the scholarships administered by the GVSU Financial Aid Office, the Seidman College of Business offers many scholarships specific to business students. Take a look below for more detail.
Each year several scholarships of $500 to $1,000 are awarded by the accounting alumni to accounting majors at the junior level. Applications can be found online and must be submitted by March 1.
Each year a $600 scholarship is given to an undergraduate or graduate student interested in production and inventory control. This student is selected on the basis of scholarship and financial need. The award is provided by the Grand Rapids Chapter of the American Production and Inventory Control Society. Applications can be found online and must be submitted by March 1.
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support to undergraduate and graduate students of business who enhance their university studies by studying in a foreign country. Awards are based on a variety of criteria, such as strong academic performance, program location, cost and financial need. Applications can be found online and must be submitted for Spring/Summer, Fall & Academic Year study abroad by March 1st. For Winter study abroad applicants, the application must be submitted by November 1st.
This scholarship, initiated by Seidman College of Business Dean H. James Williams and spouse Carole Lynn Campbell Williams, provides $750 per semester assistance to financially needy undergraduate students whose family residence is in either Flint, Michigan or Grand Rapids, Michigan. Recipients who continue to meet the criteria will have the scholarship renewed without reapplication for an additional seven (7) semesters. This scholarship provides assistance to degree-seeking College of Business students who demonstrate a commitment to understanding the issues and questions posed by a serious study of business ethics. To qualify, candidates must be entering their junior year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Additional information and applications can be found online. Applications must be submitted by March 1 and are renewable for up to three additional semesters.
This scholarship was established for students admitted to the School of Accounting who are participating in the London Study Abroad program and who express a desire to broaden their perspective of other cultures and how organizations within those cultures function through study abroad. This scholarship provides financial assistance to two degree-seeking, junior or senior, undergraduate College of Business students who demonstrate leadership skills and who have financial need. Eligible applicants must be able to document/demonstrate their leadership and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. The scholarship award is $1,000 per semester and can be received for a maximum of two consecutive semesters. Applications are available online and must be submitted by March 1.

This scholarship is awarded to senior, full-time, degree-seeking students who show promise of making outstanding contributions in the field of accounting. Graduate recipients, selected on the basis of outstanding academic potential, interest in accounting, and financial need, receive tuition for two semesters. Undergraduate recipients receive academic year tuition scholarships for their senior year only. Applications can be found online and must be submitted by March 1.
This scholarship provides assistance to undergraduate or graduate business degree-seeking students. To qualify, candidates must be entering their junior or senior undergraduate academic year with a minimum of 55 credit hours or be engaged in graduate-level studies with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better (4.0 system). Candidates must demonstrate financial need and be making satisfactory academic progress according to the norms established by the University. This scholarship provides assistance to financially needy undergraduate or graduate business degree-seeking students. As long as initial recipients continue to meet the criteria below this scholarship will renew without reapplication for an additional five (5) semesters. This scholarship provides $750 per semester assistance to financially needy undergraduate students who are working toward a business degree. Preference will be given to business majors who are also pursuing a minor in entrepreneurship. Applicants must have at least 55 credits and be at the junior level. Candidates must be enrolled in the Seidman College of Business as a declared and admitted business degree-seeking student carrying a full time course load (12 credit hrs.) Each year the firm awards one $2,000 scholarship to a full-time student who is either a junior a senior accounting major and has expressed an interest in a career in public accounting in West Michigan. This scholarship, initiated by Jack J. Korff, provides awards to Seidman College of Business students who major in Finance. Entering junior year students with a 3.00 GPA and who demonstrate financial need are eligible. Applications can be found online and must be submitted by March 1.
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist juniors and seniors in the Seidman College of Business with the cost of a GV education and encourage and recognize students involved in the Business Ethics Center to explore ethics, moral behavior and meaning in business. This need-based scholarship will ensure that financial need does not become a barrier to intellectual and personal growth.

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist and encourage students in the Seidman College of Business and Michigan Office Solutions employees and their dependents to pursue a degree at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). Applications can be found online and must be submitted by March 1.
One or two $1,000 renewable scholarships are given each year to entering first-year students majoring in a business field. Applicants must have a 3.5 grade point average and a 29 ACT composite score. For renewal, students must maintain a 3.0 after 25 credits, 3.25 after 55 credits, 3.5 after 85 credits. Recipients are selected by the Seidman College of Business. The deadline is March 1; and forms are available online.
Plante Moran established a scholarship for undergraduate GVSU accounting students. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time and have an interest in a career in public accounting. Recipients are expected to demonstrate good scholarship, interpersonal skills, and continued involvement in the community. Recipients receive $1,000 ($500 per semester) toward tuition and fees. The "Secchia Scholars Program" includes the Western Michigan "Secchia Scholars II" Scholarships, and The Economic Club of Grand Rapids (opens in new tab) Scholarships . This scholarship is created by Steelcase, Inc. to advance and support the awardees who must be participating in the HBCU/HIS Consortium Pipeline in their pursuit of an undergraduate degree from the Seidman College of Business. Undergraduate candidates are eligible to apply for this scholarship beginning with their junior year. Recipients must be enrolled full-time and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better. Scholarships will be renewed annually without re-application and may be received for up to a total of four semesters provided they continue to meet the qualifications. Scholarship amounts vary. The recipients will be chosen by the Seidman College of Business. The deadline is March 1, annually and forms are available online.
This scholarship, initiated by Seidman alumna Kathleen B. Vogelsang (BBA and MBA), provides aid to nontraditional students studying in the Seidman College of Business. Candidates/recipients must maintain a 3.00 GPA and must have prior employment experience. Applications can be found online and must be submitted by March 1, annually.
