Biography
Dr. Fan earned his Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management and MBA in Energy Finance and Investment from the Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D. degree, Dr. Fan worked for a Fortune Global 500 company as a supply chain professional for over 10 years. His current research areas include healthcare operations management, healthcare data analytics, and hospital supply chain management. Dr. Fan uses statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze big data to gain managerial insights into hospital operations and interhospital coordination decisions that improve patient care outcomes. His research has been published in Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, and Academy of Management Proceedings.
