Faculty Travel Support Grant
The Faculty Travel Support Grant provides up to $600 for travel related to scholarly activity across disciplines, such as presenting research, accessing archives and special collections, conducting fieldwork, or meeting with collaborators. The travel must be related to the applicant's original research or creative effort. Applications are accepted quarterly. It is open to all ranks of tenured and tenure-track faculty, as well as affiliate and visiting faculty.

GVSU’s Laker Match Fund
GVSU’s Laker Match Fund (LMF) is designed to assist in the provision of matching funds when a cash match is required as a condition of eligibility to apply for funding for externally-sponsored projects. Tenured or tenure-track faculty members on continuing appointment are eligible.
Momentum Fund
The Momentum Fund provides up to $2,000 to alleviate small friction from active, ongoing scholarship. It is a low-barrier funding opportunity to keep your project's momentum by helping with expenses like copyediting or indexing, licensing software, publication fees, hiring an academic year student research assistant, sending a sample to a lab, or acquiring a key resource. Applications are accepted quarterly. It is open to all ranks of tenured and tenure-track faculty, as well as affiliate and visiting faculty.
Seed Fund Grant
The Seed Fund Grant provides up to $5,000 to jumpstart new lines of inquiry that don't yet have enough preliminary data to compete for external funding. There are two submission cycles per year with deadlines at the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on December 15th and March 1st of each year. If the deadline day falls on a weekend, then the deadline is moved to 5:00 p.m. on the next business day. It is open to all ranks of tenured and tenure-track faculty. Priority may be given to pre-tenure applicants.
Collaborative Research and Creative Activity Initiative
The Collaborative Grant provides up to $10,000 to foster new collaborative research and creative activities between faculty members from different disciplines and/or areas of expertise. There are two submission cycles per year with deadlines at the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on December 15th and March 1st of each year. If the deadline day falls on a weekend, then the deadline is moved to 5:00 p.m. on the next business day. It is open to tenured or tenure-track faculty members on continuing appointment are eligible. Visiting Faculty, Affiliate Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, and Staff can be co-Principal Investigator (PI), but not lead PI.

Laker Innovation Commercialization Fund
Administered by the Technology Commercialization Office, the Laker Innovation Commercialization Fund (LICF) was established to enhance opportunity to commercialize innovations discovered at Grand Valley State University. The program is intended to provide financial support that cannot typically be obtained from other traditional sources of funding.

Administered by the LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Association, this grant program promotes LGBTQ+ related scholarship that fosters an inclusive community for LGBTQ+ faculty and staff at GVSU. All faculty and staff are eligible to apply.
