Grant Opportunity

The purpose of this grant program is to promote LGBT related scholarship that fosters an inclusive community for LGBT faculty and staff at GVSU.  All faculty and staff are eligible to apply. Instructions on how fill out the grant application are in this document (clicking on link will download the document). If you have any questions regarding the requirements of the grant, contact the LGBT FSA

Applications are due by midnight of October 31st (unless otherwise stated), and should be sent, via email, directly to the LGBT FSA at [email protected]. Your proposal is not approved until you receive a confirmation email from the FSA.

Past funded projects through the LGBT FSA grant include:

2014:

  • The Hidden Rainbow: Searching for LGBT Content in a Teacher Education Program; Forrest Clift (Center for Educational Partnerships).

2013:

  • Fighting Violence with Identity: The (Un)Intended Consequences of Identity-Based Anti-Violence; Laurel Westbrook (Sociology).
  • Enhancing the Study Abroad Experience for the LGBT (sexual minority) student community; Michael Scantlebury (Hospitality & Tourism Management).

Regardless of the funding source, the LGBT FSA is still interested in highlighting GVSU scholarship that is both related to LGBT issues and that supports the mission of the FSA.  If your scholarship satisfies these criteria, please let us know.  We would like to further promote your scholarship on our website!
