We were first introduced to the food of Chef LaKisha Harris at an event hosted by Jakia Marie, assistant professor and program coordinator of Africana Studies. During the 2024-2025 academic year, Soul Filled Catering served our campus community at the “Family Reunion” hosted by the Black Excellence program and the Black Faculty Staff Association, the “Taste of Soul” Black History Month event hosted by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and the Black Faculty Staff Association Juneteenth Dinner. They also served at the NIARA Mentor Mixer and the “From Roots to Rise” Juneteenth celebration, hosted by the Division of People, Equity, and Culture. Soul Filled Catering has made a tremendous contribution to all the events by providing culturally authentic cuisine from the African American culture.
