Supplier Engagement

A Commitment to Supplier Engagement at Grand Valley State University:

Grand Valley State University strives to provide all members of its community with an inclusive environment and equitable opportunities for success.

GVSU is committed to a robust vendor and supplier engagement program across the University. This program seeks to sustain a diversified pool of qualified suppliers to provide goods and services to our campus communities by expanding and extending opportunities to a broad range of potential suppliers. Our supplier engagement efforts are designed to ensure that all qualified businesses have equitable access to compete for opportunities.

In our supplier engagement efforts, every member of our university community has a commitment to fairness and non-discrimination. Each unit responsible for university resources is expected to remain mindful and deliberate when sourcing goods and services and ensure that the University behaves in a manner that is consistent with its obligations as a federal contractor and complies with applicable law.

The Procurement Services Department is available to provide assistance to ensure each unit meets this obligation. Procurement Services can provide research on a range of potential suppliers, as well as locally- and alumni-owned businesses, when sourcing for quotes or formal requests for proposals (RFP) are needed. These processes will expand the supplier network to ensure a robust, competitive supplier network is maintained to achieve the best value for university expenditures. The University’s purchasing policies and procedures can be found at www.gvsu.edu/purchasing

We are committed to removing barriers that have limited participation in procurement processes. Advancing supplier engagement will enhance the vibrancy of our community while providing opportunity and creating an inclusive environment where students, faculty, staff, and vendors are proud to learn, teach, and conduct business. Lakers are known for working together, and by using that spirit to create a robust, diverse supply chain, we can strengthen our University culture, climate, and the greater community.
