Beth Barker is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Grand Valley State University. Before coming to GVSU, she taught philosophy as a lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2024-2025), Loyola University Chicago (2021-2024). Her research interests include practical knowledge (‘know-how’), action, and nonhuman animal knowledge and agency.

Dr. Barker holds a PhD in philosophy from Northwestern University. When she isn’t doing philosophy, she’s watching birds or playing board games.
