Visitor and Guest Parking
Guest(s) of Students
GVSU is a permit-only campus. Visitors may obtain a permit from one of our Parking Services offices, from their GVSU contact person, or may park by using Pay-2-Park locations across campus. Visitors are required to provide their photo identification, the license plate number of their vehicle, and the contact information for the GVSU subject they are visiting to obtain a permit. Permits must be obtained before parking on campus unless utilizing a Pay-2-Park location. Hours and location information.

Visitors staying overnight on campus must obtain an overnight parking permit from one of the Parking Services offices. The University reserves the right to restrict overnight parking when necessary. Hours and location information.

Overnight Guest Permit Request
Overnight Visitor Permits are required 24/7 on the Allendale / Valley Campus and the Grand Rapids / City Campus.
The visitor of the resident must visit one of the parking offices to be issued a visitor permit. The permit may not be requested by a GVSU student or resident.

Where Can I Park?
Overnight Guest Permit Request
Request an overnight guest permit for the City campus ONLY. The permit may not be requested by a GVSU student or resident. Overnight Visitor Permits are required 24/7 and will only be valid in the Seward Flat Lot and Seward Ramp Parking Lots. If an overnight guest is parked in another lot, fees will apply.
For Student Organization Events that need permits for non-affiliated GVSU visitors, please contact your student org Faculty/Staff contact person to fill out an Event Request form.
Guest(s) of Faculty/Staff
If you are a Faculty/Staff member requesting a visitor permit for a non-affiliated GVSU patron, you will need to fill out the Visitor Permit Request.
If you are a Faculty/Staff member requesting permits for a GVSU-hosted event, you will need to fill out the Event Parking Request.
If you are a Faculty/Staff member who had a non-affiliated GVSU visitor on campus and parked in a Parking Controlled Parking Lot that pulled a ticket and is requesting validation, please fill out the City Campus Validation Request Form.
If your visitor fails to provide the ticket number, fees will apply.
Trailers/ Buses and ADA

Trailer parking on both the Allendale and Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus must be approved by the authority of parking services.
Buses
Allendale/Valley Campus:
Buses are permitted to park in Lot J.
Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids/City Campus:
Bus parking is not allowed on the Grand Rapids Campuses. Buses are encouraged to park next to the Ford Museum (303 Pearl St SW) on the street.
ADA
During the time of parking on campus, a valid GVSU permit must always accompany the ADA placard or plate designation. If ADA-compliant parking spaces are not available, the ADA permit holder may, with a valid GVSU permit and a valid ADA placard or plate displayed, park in a Faculty/Staff or student space.
