Math Student Research and Travel Fund
Award information
- Awards can be given for three broad categories: (1) research dissemination, (2) research costs, (3) grad school related expenses. **
- There is a max of $200 per student per academic year. ***
- There are 2 application cycles – one due November 1 and one due March 15.
** For those who are approved for conference travel and research costs (categories (1) and (2)), we request a short reflection after their travel / research, with a picture and photo release if possible.
*** In the case of additional funds or extraordinary circumstances, this number may be flexible.
How to apply
To apply, you will need:
- a short statement (max 250 words) about how they anticipate the activity will benefit them,
- a budget and requested amount,
- the name and email of a faculty sponsor who will vouch for your academic preparation and that you are responsible. The faculty sponsor should also submit a 1-3 sentence justification of their responses. After submitting the application, your faculty sponsor will be automatically notified and sent the reference form.
