I traveled to Giecz, Poland for the Slavic Field School in Mortuary Archaeology. It was an amazing experience where I got the opportunity to learn about osteology and excavate burials from the 12th century. Even though, I did not ultimately end up in the Archaeology career path, it was a rewarding experience that I still think about to this day. I encourage all students to go outside their comfort zones and study abroad. They will learn about new cultures, create new experiences, and make life long friends.
