Last semester I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia. I went to Macquarie University through a GVSU partnership program. Seeing a new country and the beauties of the Australian environment ignited my passion for environmental conservation. Seeing first hand that another country also faces environmental hazards opened my eyes to the condition our planet is in and how many people are affected. My semester abroad is the biggest reason for committing myself to protecting our natural world and continuing to travel to different countries to learn how environments and hazards vastly differ.
