Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, with the Director of the CLAS Center for Experiential Learning (CCEL), the planning, implementation, tracking, and assessment of projects related to the CLAS Voyage and the CLAS Vision, Commitments, and Action Plan 
  • Provide administrative support, including processing registrations, financial transactions, scheduling, and recording meetings 
  • Liaise with CLAS Faculty Fellows, Student Learning Communities (SLC) Pilot faculty, CLAS Dean’s Office staff, and other stakeholders to collaboratively plan and coordinate projects 
  • Identify and collaboratively write grants and other funding proposals to support the work of CCEL 
  • Co-lead the CLAS Alumni-in-Residence Program 

Bio

Meghan K. Riley earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and History, with teaching certification, from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2006. After teaching at alternative high schools and adult education programs in Flint and the greater Flint area for seven years, she returned to the University of Michigan-Flint to earn a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies. From 2014 to 2019, Meghan held student services positions – including in peer mentorship training, student leadership workshop facilitation, orientation, and academic and career coaching – at the University of Waterloo in southern Ontario while pursuing a PhD in English Language and Literature. Since then, Meghan has taught in South Carolina and Indiana. Meghan is delighted to be back in Michigan as the Program Specialist for the CLAS Voyage, and to use her knowledge of best practices in supporting diverse learners holistically and in career articulation skills to advance the CLAS mission and vision of delivering a comprehensive, community-building applied learning experience to all CLAS students.
