The photography major blends the history, critical analysis, and aesthetic theory of photography with the practical application of its principles.
The program emphasizes hands-on practice and the study of photography as a powerful medium within culture and society. Emphasizing technique and analysis, it prepares students to critically interpret and creatively produce in various professional and artistic environments.
You will immerse yourself in the world of photography, from black and white and color techniques to digital and studio photography. You will also explore documentary photography and photojournalism while gaining an understanding of the history, theories, and criticisms of the medium.
