In the Margins

In the Margins is a club for poets and creative writers to meet other writers, share their work, and get some writing done! This group is intended to be an inclusive space where people of all identities and backgrounds feel welcomed and safe to share. The club meets weekly for an hour that includes writing activities, writing skill building exercises, and community building. Often, members stay afterwards for an informal open mic to share their work. In the Margins accepts members of any level of writing experience at any time, and offers prompts and activities for poetry, creative nonfiction, and fiction. At the end of each academic year, In the Margins publishes a lit zine that showcases the writing and artistic works of club members.

This club is currently inactive and in need of student leadership. If you are a current GVSU student and are interested in organizing In the Margins, please email Professor Todd Kaneko ([email protected]) to talk about the possibilities for this club.
