Computer Literacy Trainers and other volunteer opportunities available with Grand Rapids Women’s Resource Center
The Grand Rapids Women’s Resource Center equips and empowers women to become economically self-sufficient and improve their lives through meaningful employment, career development and personal growth.
We offer both intensive, holistic programs and ala carte services that include career exploration, employment guidance, employability and life skills classes, one-on-one coaching, volunteer/peer mentoring, support groups, and a clothing closet to help women dress for success.
Any unemployed or under-employed woman living in the Greater Grand Rapids area can find assistance at WRC.
Computer Classes are offered to participants who are interested in improving their computer skills. In addition to offering regularly scheduled Word and Excel classes, we also provide opportunities for 1-on-1 tutoring time for any MS application. Classes are small, 2-8 individuals. Volunteers teach these classes in 2 hour blocks. These volunteers must be proficient in these programs but also have the heart of a teacher and the ability and desire to work with people from different backgrounds and with varying levels of computer skills.
