The CLEAR Team & EAC Visual Data
The CLEAR Team
The CLEAR Team (Collaborative Learning Evaluation and Assessment Resource) is a partnership between eLearning Technologies and the Office of the Provost. We partner with programs and faculty to support the meaningful use of data for learning, evaluation, and assessment.
By fostering transparency, consultation, and collaboration, we help align assessment practices with institutional goals and accreditation standards.
The CLEAR Team provides comprehensive user support and training for GVSU’s assessment data portal, EAC Visual Data.
What is EAC Visual Data?
EAC Visual Data is the analytics and reporting portal for Blackboard's Assessment and Accreditation Solution.
It leverages teaching and learning activities already happening within Blackboard Learn, automatically generating charts and graphs that depict student performance within a single course or across an entire program.

Example of EAC Statistics
Understanding Key EAC Statistics
EAC uses several primary metrics to help you evaluate assessment effectiveness. For a deeper dive, visit the full Glossary.
- P-Value: Measures question difficulty
- Point Biserial Correlation: Measures individual item reliability
- Cronbach Alpha with Deletion: Assesses test question reliability and shows what the overall test reliability would look like if a specific question were removed
- Distractor Point Biserial Correlation: Measures the reliability of each multiple-choice answer option presented to students
- KR(20): Distinguishes between students who have mastered the material and those who have not
