Excellence in a Discipline - Human Resource Management

What is your favorite Seidman memory?
When I think of my favorite Seidman memory, multiple examples come to mind but they all have one common denominator -- the amazing professors here. All of the professors I have had throughout my time at Seidman have each implemented their own sense of individualism into their courses which makes them memorable. Overall, my favorite memories surround the cultivating environments each of my professors built into their courses.

Our building namesake – Bill Seidman – exhibited many desirable traits of a leader such as an innovator, integrity, curiosity, and future-minded. How did your experience at Seidman help you develop one or more of these traits?
While my time at Seidman thoroughly helped me develop all of these traits, the one that stands out the most is innovator. Seidman classes are built around making students work hard to find solutions and develop their own ways of thinking when necessary. Many of my classes required thinking outside of the box, digging deeper to figure out a solution, and applying frameworks. Developing these areas has led me to think from more of an innovative standpoint, instead of just accepting the standard route to a solution at times.

What would you like people in the community to know about Seidman graduates like you?
I would like the community to know that Seidman graduates are ready to make an impact in our community, and at large. Our experiences as Seidman students has given us a well-rounded environment to grow our skills and learn from our mistakes. We are eager to apply what we have learned but also to continue learning in our disciplines.

What is your career aspiration?
My career aspiration is to be an impactful leader and advocate. I hope to find an organization where I can grow these skills further, while also contributing back to maintaining a healthy environment for all within the workplace.

How did your time at Seidman College prepare you to contribute to your community as a Laker for a Lifetime?
My time at Seidman allowed me to have an early start and to really understand what it means to be a Laker for Lifetime. Through the Seidman Mentorship Program, I experienced mentorship from a former Laker in my future field of work, while also mentoring a first-year student. Being inspired by my mentor has allowed me to truly feel how exciting it is to be part of an amazing community that is always there for each other, works hard, and has a passion for continuous education. I am looking forward to contributing to this community in the future but also currently passing these shared values down to my mentee.
