Excellence in a Discipline - Economics
What is your favorite Seidman memory?
My favorite memories at Seidman are the insightful discussions I
had with classmates and friends, both before and after class. We would
often gather to reflect on what we were learning, exchanging ideas and
perspectives. Many times, we'd head to a nearby pizza shop to enjoy a
slice and continue our conversations. These casual hangouts
transformed Seidman into a true learning community for me, enriching
my overall experience.
Our building namesake – Bill Seidman – exhibited many
desirable traits of a leader such as an innovator, integrity,
curiosity, and future-minded. How did your experience at Seidman
help you develop one or more of these traits?
My experience at Seidman has ignited my curiosity across various
fields. The professors have equipped me with the tools to channel that
curiosity into a continuous pursuit of knowledge. These valuable
skills will empower me to be a lifelong learner, constantly seeking
growth and understanding.
What would you like people in the community to know about
Seidman graduates like you?
I believe that Seidman graduates are hard and dedicated workers.
Many of my classmates were balancing their studies with jobs and other
obligations. Gaining this experience outside of the classroom makes
Seidman graduates more well rounded and prepared for the workforce.
What is your career aspiration?
My career aspiration is to apply my studies in economics,
international relations, and Mandarin to become an international
economist within the government, specializing in China and Taiwan. I
aim to leverage my knowledge to contribute to shaping global economic
policies and fostering stronger international relations in the region.
How did your time at Seidman College prepare you to contribute
to your community as a Laker for a Lifetime?
My time at Seidman College has equipped me with the tools to
unlock my full potential. With these skills, I am better prepared to
give back to my community through my aspiration of a career in public service.
