What is the Fun(d) Run?

Open Participation

Lakers can navigate our course however they would like! For those with a more competitive spirit, awards will be given to our overall Top 10.

Awards

Our overall Top 10 finishers will receive a medal and prize pack.

The Course

Our course is a 2-mile loop that includes popular Allendale campus landmarks and making it accessible and enjoyable for all Lakers.

For a Cause

All proceeds will go directly to the Recreation & Wellness Program Fund, directly benefitting GVSU students.

Registration is currently closed and will reopen in July 2026 for our next event.

Waiver Forms

Waivers must be completed by all participants prior to the event start. Click on the icon to complete a waiver after registering for the event or use this link to access.

What You Get

All participants who register by Labor Day will receive a commemorative race bib, t-shirt, and event sticker. Registrations after Labor Day will receive items while supplies last at check-in.

Join the Fun

Yard games & activities will be on site near the start/finish line for racers & supporters to enjoy throughout the event.

Fun(d) Run Policies

Delays & Cancelations

If weather conditions present a danger to participants, GVSU staff maintain the right to cancel or delay the event. Less threatening conditions may cause adjustments to the event to ensure safety of everyone involved. Such conditions will not result in refunding of any registration fees or future credit.

If the event is cancelled prior to the event date, participants will be notified as soon as possible.

Refund Policy

GVSU Recreation & Wellness is unable to provide refunds. If you are unable to attend, your registration fee will still directly benefit Grand Valley students.

Animals

This policy is intended to enhance the safety and health of students, faculty, staff, contractors, vendors and other visitors, and to supplement the existing GVSU policies, by providing rules and regulations regarding the presence of animals in GVSU facilities.

No person shall bring any animal(s) onto university owned or controlled property unless otherwise permitted by this or other University policy as in the GVSU policy.
