Nicholas Westberg is a scholar of Early Modern Philosophy. In 2024 he received his doctorate in Philosophy from Boston College under the supervision of Professor Jean-Luc Solère. Most recently he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. His research and teaching focus on metaphysics and natural philosophy in the late scholastic and early modern periods, with a particular emphasis on theories of causation and material constitution. He has previously published on Rene Descartes, John Duns Scotus, and Francisco Suarez and is currently developing a project on the philosophy of the seventeenth century Englishwoman, Margaret Cavendish.
