FIT Courses


We have some of the most popular classes at the university and because of student demand, we continue to create more opportunities to move.

The Fitness, Skill and Activity Program (FIT) offers classes to every Grand Valley State University student. These classes are one credit, credit/no credit opportunities to be physically active, no experience is necessary!

If you are concerned about registering for a FIT course because of your abilities or disabilities or an injury, our faculty will do everything possible to accommodate your individual situation.  Contact the FIT course administrator, Karol Tiemersma, for more information: or 331-8890.

Students take a wide range of FIT courses, including archery, rock climbing, bowling, weight training, tennis, soccer, golf, gymnastics, Pilates, self-defense, volleyball and yoga, to name a few. The goal of this program is to help students develop physical literacy: the skill, confidence and desire to be active for a lifetime.
