Outdoor Climbing & Camping

This course introduces hands-on climbing activities of various styles.  Students apply climbing and camping skills during a mandatory weekend trip.  Instruction covers types of equipment and how to use it properly, safety, etiquette in the environment, trip planning and camp setup, and climbing/bouldering/rappelling. There is an additional course fee.

This class meets three times in-person before taking a weekend trip to the climbing sites and camping.  These classes are scheduled in Banner.  The weekend trip is planned for September 18 through 20, 2026.  September 25 through 27, 2026, will be used in case of weather delay.  Students must be able to travel on both of the following weekend dates.  No experience necessary.  All equipment provided.  An additional course fee is required to cover transportation, lodging, and camp meals.
