The most helpful aspects of my undergraduate education in mathematics were: I had the absolute best mathematics teachers at GVSU. They showed me how many opportunities a degree in mathematics can unlock, and they motivated me to continue on to get my PhD. Their instructional methods and strategies were super effective for me, and I strive to bring some of that same effectiveness into the K-12 curriculum I now help design.

The advice I’d offer to current undergraduate students in mathematics: Be intentional with your time, which to me means finding some balance between enjoying today while also taking steps toward your goals. Above all, be kind to yourself and keep going.

In a typical day in my work, I: I help architect, author, and review the story of mathematics that is told in the Great Minds K-12 mathematics curriculum, *Eureka Math2*. I specialize in the elementary grades (K-5).

Other thoughts/comments: GVSU Math forever!!!
