You can access all of your your technology apps, tools and resources by going to my.gvsu.edu. This dashboard, powered by Okta, is customizable to include both your work apps as well as personal accounts for social media, streaming services, finances, and more. GVSU Faculty and Staff are able to reset their password in several ways. They are as follows:
Option One - Through Okta: Passwords can be updated and managed through Okta.

Option Two For GVSU Windows Computers: The following are instructions for resetting a password using a GVSU Windows computer.
- Faculty and staff can reset a password through the Self-Service Password Website (www.gvsu.edu/passwordrest). Please click Reset Network Password then follow the steps.
- Passwords can also be changed by pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE, selecting Change a Password and following the steps. Please note that faculty and staff can change the username after OFFICE\ to reset the password to other accounts, like generic/sponsored accounts.

Option 3 for GVSU Mac Computers: The following are instructions for resetting a password using a GVSU Mac computer.
- Faculty and staff using GVSU Mac computers should reset their passwords through Enterprise Connect. If a password is not reset through Enterprise Connect, a user may not be able to log into their computer and have issues syncing. To resolve this, a user should shut down their computer, come to campus, plug into an Ethernet cable, turn on their computer, and log in with their most updated password.

The GVSU faculty and staff Wi-Fi network is GV-Faculty-Staff. Use your GVSU Username and password and click OK to connect. For detailed assistance, please review the knowledge base article to connect to the Wi-Fi. If you are still experiencing issues connecting to Wi-Fi, please contact IT Services by submitting a ticket in the IT Services portal, phone (616) 331-2101, email ([email protected]), or walk up for further assistance.
If you run into tech issues while teaching or leading a lab, IT is here to help. Our technicians can assist with things like device problems, AV support, or Instructor Station troubleshooting.

GVSU is committed to enhancing accessibility to the tools and resources you need for your daily work. As part of an updated contract, all faculty and staff have access to Adobe Express and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Go to Adobe.com and sign in with your GVSU credentials to access Adobe tools. Once logged in, you can use Adobe apps via the web or install them on your device. For detailed steps and troubleshooting steps, visit the Knowledge Base article.

GVSU uses Duo Security as its Multifactor Authentication (MFA) solution. Commonly referred to as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), Duo MFA provides an additional layer of security for users logging in to a secure environment. Duo makes authentication easy by allowing individuals to verify their identity using a mobile device - either through an app or using a code sent via text.

GVSU uses Okta to access technology, update passwords, and enable multi-factor authentication. Using Okta provides the university with many benefits, including the ability to only change passwords every 18 months.

The GlobalProtect VPN (Virtual Private Network) client by Palo Alto Networks is a tool that allows you to securely access the university's network and resources from anywhere, whether you're working from home, traveling, or off-campus. Think of it as a secure bridge between your device and the university's systems, ensuring that your connection is private and protected from online threats.

Zoom is GVSU’s platform for phone, online meetings, and collaboration. One feature available to all Zoom users is the Zoom AI Companion, which provides meeting hosts with AI-generated summaries, chat threads, and suggested responses to help streamline communication and productivity. While Zoom AI Companion is now available to everyone, meeting hosts decide whether to enable it—it is not turned on automatically for all meetings. Hosts can also choose to automatically enable it for all meetings they host if desired.

Meeting Summary
Effective immediately, all users must sign in to campus lab and podium computers with their @gvsu.edu email address instead of the former @office login. Notifications are posted on lab and podium computers to help remind users of this update.
This change allows for seamless automatic sign-in to OneDrive, so you no longer need to set up your account each time you use these machines. The result is easier access to your files and a boost in productivity. With questions, email [email protected] or connect through the Service Portal.
