The HR Business Partners are committed to creating a healthy organizational climate in which employees are valued stakeholders with the power to affect outcomes. We are your partners.

The HR Strategic Business Partners are the one stop shop for employees. GVSU employees are assigned, based on their department/area, to a specific HR Strategic Business Partner. They can be contacted for any HR needs, from benefits to employment. Business Partners engage with the campus community to support hiring efforts, employee and departmental misconduct, and more. Please contact your HR Business Partner based on the chart below.

Pew Campus Availability

In addition to our office in Allendale, we are now available (by appointment) on Pew Campus in DEV 315.1C, Monday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

HR Administration

HR Admin Transactions

Submission of digital paperwork for transactions related to the following can be sent directly to HR Admin:   

Employment Contracts/Appointment Letters:

  • New Employees: 
    • All that do not require an HAF (Hiring Approval Form). 
    • One-time pay, semester-by-semester faculty, less than 12 month adjunct AP. 
      • Please note that notarized Faculty Oaths and I9 documentation, including for semester-by-semester faculty, goes to your HR Business Partner.
  • Renewals:
    • All except 12 month adjunct AP, Visiting Faculty and Affiliate Faculty.
  • Changes:
    • All that do not require an HAF (Hiring Approval Form).
    • One-time pay, semester-by-semester faculty, less than 12 month adjunct AP.
    • Mid-year salary adjustment.
    • Contract revisions/corrections that do not require an HAF.

Other:

  • All Post-Hire Documentation (Pay Option election form, EAP request for teaching overload)
    • Please note that notarized Faculty Oaths and I9 documentation, including for semester-by-semester faculty, goes to HR Business Partner
  • Departures (terminations and retirements)
  • Departmental Reorganizations / Changes
