Chris Grooms is the HR liaison for areas within the Division of Academic Affairs and the Finance & Administration division. His primary duty is to serve as the central contact for employees and university leadership in the division. He is also responsible for communication and implementation of HR initiatives and is an expert of principles and practices of Human Resources at GVSU. As the complaint liaison, Chris supports the complaint resolution process in partnership with the Division of Inclusion and Equity, Employee Ombuds Office, and the Provost's Office.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from Aquinas College in Communication and Theatre, and he is currently working toward a master’s degree from GVSU in Public Administration focusing on non-profit management and leadership. In his spare time, he directs plays and musicals for local community theatres and loves spending time with his wife and children.
