Deb Sanders is our Director of HR Strategic Business Partners. Deb joined GVSU in November of 2019 as the Director of Staff Relations and quickly created strong campus partnerships, allowing her to take on more responsibility. She recently added compensation and talent acquisition to her portfolio, in addition to overseeing all labor relations, which includes leading collective bargaining negotiations for all university labor contracts. Deb is excited to help the campus community benefit from a talented team that will be strategic thought partners for all the university's HR needs. 

Deb has extensive experience in human resources, including twenty years working and leading in higher education human resources. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from MSU in Education and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development from Western Michigan University.  When Deb isn’t cheering on the Lakers, she loves spending time with her dogs, boating, and traveling to tropical locations.
