GVSU Celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports

50 for 50! That’s our goal as we celebrate Grand Valley’s Women in Sports week February 13-19.

As Title IX hits the 50-year milestone in 2022, we have set a goal of raising $50,000 for Grand Valley’s student athletes in women’s sports. Your gift will continue the margin of excellence that made Grand Valley an elite Division II program for women with more than 80 national and regional championships across 11 sports.

At Grand Valley, we are proud to have started women’s sports in 1968 with softball, well ahead of the 1972 Title IX legislation. Since that time, our women’s sports have grown in number and success. Today 45% of all Laker athletes are women.
