GVSU's Masters Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program is an intensive 16-month, 4 consecutive semester, program that includes a rigorous academic curriculum and a series of off-site clinical experiences. The program's curriculum, as a terminal professional degree awarding program, is designed to prepare students to be clinically competent entry-level professionals in the field of speech-language pathology.

Below you will find suggested timelines for graduates to complete the prescribed coursework and offsite-clinical experiences for the GVSU's Masters SLP program as well as some links to useful websites and documents.


Current Graduate Track 1 SLP Path:

The 4 semester sequence is consecutively completed across 16 months. During the first three semesters, students complete coursework following a prescribed sequence of courses; for specific courses, please see GVSU's Course Catalog. In terms of clinical experiences, the first semester is faculty-led, while the second, third and fourth semesters are community preceptor-led. Additionally, the fourth semester is dedicated to a full internship clinical experience.
