GVSU's GenCyber program was designed to help students understand safe online behavior, learn fundamental cybersecurity knowledge, and increase interest in cybersecurity careers. The GenCyber camps are offered at no cost to all participants. Funding for the GenCyber camps will be provided jointly by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) through awards received by Grand Valley.

GVSU's GenCyber camp is a one-week introduction to Cybersecurity for high school students. No prior knowledge of cybersecurity is expected or required. Students will learn fundamental cybersecurity concepts through hands-on activities, including network scanning, system hardening, password cracking, and more.
