The Information Systems (BS) program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org, under the commission's General Criteria and Program Criteria for Information Systems and Similarly Named Computing Programs.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Three years after graduation, our alumni are expected to be computing professionals who:
PEO1: Use technical, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills to design build and manage effective information systems.
PEO2: Behave ethically while contributing to their profession and to society.
PEO3: Continue to develop their professional knowledge and skills.
Student Outcomes (SOs)
By the time of graduation, students will have demonstrated the ability to:
SO1: Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
SO2: Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
SO3: Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
SO4: Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
SO5: Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
SO6: Support the delivery, use, and management of information systems within an information systems environment.
