The Artificial Intelligence Minor introduces core AI concepts including AI’s place in social/business contexts, ethical considerations on the use of AI, and security concerns for AI applications.  It is divided into two tracks, the first focuses on applications and impacts intended for non-computing majors to build a foundational understanding of AI and exposure to AI tools.  Students taking this track will be able to apply AI applications and tools to their chosen field while considering ethical implications surrounding AI.  This track does not have pre-requisite knowledge in computing and mathematics.  The second track includes applications and ethical considerations while exploring the underlying algorithmic principles and technical issues surrounding deploying AI systems in computing environments.  A computing background is required including programming and data structures for this track.  Students choosing this track may require more than 21 credits to complete the minor.
