CEC Program

Bachelors's and Master's level Lead Teachers use Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment Programs to foster a fun and engaging environment.

With the support of Assistant Teachers, undergraduate students, before and after school care is available for local Allendale elementary students ages 12 and under. Transportation is provided by Allendale Public School.

PRESCHOOL CLASSES
AGES 2.5 TO 5

We use the Creative Curriculum which enables the children to become independent in their learning environment and have options in what they are learning. We do not focus on a particular theme in the classroom, rather we do studies. A new study begins with children expressing their interests while using their imagination to influence our weekly focuses and learning objectives.

FAMILY TESTIMONIALS

"Childcare on campus has been a huge blessing for me. Being able to only have to go to campus to drop [my child] off and then catch the bus to class at CHS [downtown Grand Rapids] is so convenient in the mornings. I feel very appreciative of the CEC. They are flexible and they always work with your schedule, especially with breaks. I cannot express enough how much of a help the CEC has been in achieving my educational goals. Going to school full time, working part-time, and being a single parent demands a lot from a person. I can honestly say that I would not have been this successful or even stayed with the school if it wasn't for the CEC. I also feel like [my child] has learned so much at the CEC, not only academically, but socially as well. She loves going, she loves telling me about they learned each day and the activities they do." - Elizabeth S.

"This place has awesome staff, healthy food, and great opportunities for the children."- Sarah V.

"This has been the best transition for my daughter [...] I think it is because of the activities you provide." - Marlena V.

"My daughter went here for two years, it was an amazing experience!"- Jennifer E.

"My son has attended the CEC for about two years. I wanted to mention to you that since Sarah Lord has assumed the duties of the director, we’ve been very pleased with the innovative ideas, organization, and communication coming from the CEC. I’d also like to compliment Jenny and Daphnea as it’s apparent they work well as a team and have generated a lot of energy and creative ideas! We were always happy with the quality of care and teaching, but have noticed some new approaches that are working well. As a parent and member of the GVSU community, I appreciate their hard work and dedication."- Sarah B.
