How to Transfer to GVSU
1. Submit Your Application
Submit your degree-seeking undergraduate application online.
2. Request Your Transcripts
If you completed 12 or more college credits, please have your college transcripts sent to Grand Valley State University. Your transcripts must be official and come directly from the colleges you previously attended. Transcripts may be sent electronically to [email protected]. Please note, your official high school transcript is also required if you've completed fewer than 12 college credits.
Transfer Student Grant
When it comes to access to a first-class college education, a student's family income should not be a barrier. That's why we've vowed to help make a Grand Valley education accessible to Siena Heights University transfer students with our Transfer Student Grant. Siena Heights University transfer students who are admitted for the Fall 2025, Winter 2026 or Fall 2026 terms and who meet the list of criteria below will be automatically awarded full undergraduate tuition and course fees, after all federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships are considered.
- Must be admitted to Fall 2025, Winter 2026, or Fall 2026 terms
- Live in the state of Michigan
- Family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $0 - $50,000, as reported on the FAFSA
- Family Assets of $50,000 or less, as reported on the FAFSA
- Must be enrolled full-time
Completion Scholarship for Siena Heights University Transfer Students
Award amount: $4,000 (renewable for one additional consecutive year)
- Must transfer from Siena Heights University and be admitted prior to the dates listed above
- Must have completed 60 earned college credit hours at the time of application review
- Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at Grand Valley
- Requires full-time enrollment
- Total award value: $8,000
Award for Excellence Transfer Scholarship
Award amount for Fall 2025 and Winter 2026: $2,000 (renewable for one additional consecutive year)
Award amount for Fall 2026: $4,000 (renewable for two additional consecutive years)
- Must have completed 30 college credit hours at the time of application review for students entering in Fall 2025 or Winter 2026
- Must have completed 12 college credit hours at the time of application review for students entering in Fall 2026
- Must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or greater
- Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at Grand Valley
- Requires full-time enrollment

The teach-out agreement between Siena Heights and GVSU applies to students admitted through June 30, 2027. The terms of the teach-out agreement will remain in effect for individual students until they either graduate or stop out. Students who stop out may be readmitted to GVSU outside the terms of the teach-out agreement and will need to abide by all GVSU policies, procedures, and requirements, as applicable to all GVSU students.
