• 21 CreditsHospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) focuses on the business and operations of the hospitality and tourism industries, including hotels, restaurants, events, travel, attractions, and adventure.
Students understand strategies for hospitality operations management, guest experience enhancement, and tourism growth. Grand Valley gives students the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge through field experience facilitated by internship requirements.
The minor offers a customizable curriculum, requiring a minimum of seven courses in HTM, including HTM 101 - Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism. Field experience options allow you to take your knowledge beyond the classroom and gain a broader understanding of the industry.
You will engage with dedicated professors who incorporate modern industry concepts and best practices in the classroom and beyond. The program emphasizes experiential learning and resume building through structured internships, providing valuable hands-on experience. You will benefit from networking opportunities with alumni, professional organizations, and industry stakeholders. Additionally, Grand Valley offers distinctive opportunities through diverse and practical career concentrations that set it apart from other institutions.
