• 18 CreditsGeneral business is a versatile minor for students seeking a diverse business education.
The undergraduate minor program in business is for nonbusiness majors, designed to complement major fields of study in other departments or schools. Without emphasizing a specific area of study, students gain knowledge and experience across fields while gaining practical experience. Learn to identify and analyze problems, create and communicate effective solutions, make decisions, and monitor results.
Coursework covers a variety of topics including accounting, administrative policy, economics, and finance. You will have focused study in marketing, organization, and law, providing a strong foundation in essential business ideas.
Small class sizes mean you get personal interaction with professors, and faculty often consult on real business issues, giving students valuable insights in the classroom. Located in downtown Grand Rapids, you have access to a vibrant business hub. The Small Business Technology Development Center provides great networking opportunities with business leaders, and internships are designed to fit your desired field of study and class schedule, allowing you to gain valuable work experience before graduation.
