The Open Dialogue - Visual Studies' Time Studio student exhibit
Date and Time
Thursday, November 15, 2018 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Description
Having spent the semester studying video, sound, and performance, Time Studio Students are invading the GVSU Performing Arts Center to present Time-based works. How does the image "converse" with noise and the human body? Students will explore this and other questions in two programmed evenings of self-produced performance in the Performing Arts Center Theatre Lab space (1721 PAC).
Each evening will consist of one hour of 5-7 minute multimedia pieces, produced, performed and designed by the students, with assistance from their peers. Their works explore ideas of self-portrait, identity, gesture, beauty, movement, and the constructed image. After a short break with refreshments, the audience is invited to stay for a discussion of several of the works. What does it mean to explore time in a visual arts context? We invite you to join the dialogue.
