GVSU Student Employment Summit
The 2026 GVSU Student Employment Summit is a one day event geared towards providing student employment professionals with the tools they need to succeed. If you are involved in student employment, whether that be as a supervisor, administrator of student employee hiring, or interact with student employees in your day to day work, we encourage you to attend. This event is open to any student employment professional in the state of Michigan or surrounding states. This year, the event will be held at Grand Valley State University's City Campus in Grand Rapids, MI on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
We anticipate great discussions on best practices for hiring, creative ways to motivate and inspire students, and how others administer programs such as Federal Work Study or new student employee onboarding.
REGISTRATION
Registration is $50 per person and includes a buffet lunch. Click on the button below to register and pay for your space.

TOPIC DISCUSSIONS
If you are knowledgeable or passionate about a specific hiring process, supervision topic, or compliance requirement, we'd love to have you help lead a round table discussion or mini-seminar. We have so much to learn from our peers and welcome your interest in teaching the student employment community. To submit your topic, please email Angel Kropf at [email protected] with a document outlining your topic and points of discussion. We will review your request and let you know if you topic has been selected to be incorporated into the summit. If you are selected, your registration fee will be waived. Some topics may include:

- student employee professionalism
- student onboarding and expectations
- wages and responsibilities
