About

Len O'Kelly has spent over 30 years on the air in radio, primarily in the Chicago metropolitan area. He has served as a news director and has programmed radio stations in locations as close as Grand Rapids, MI, and as far away as Gisborne, New Zealand. He continues to work in broadcasting and performs voiceover work for television, radio, and film, as well as industrial and training narration. His research concentrates on post-WW2 radio and television.

O'Kelly also serves as the faculty advisor for Grand Valley's student-run radio station WCKS "The Whale" and is the station manager for WLSX “The X,” the laboratory radio station in the School of Communications.  In addition, he is the Director of First Year Advising and Registration for the University, has been appointed a Faculty Fellow in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and serves as the Associate Director for the School of Communications.
